PARKING LOT
2019
size 48×30 inches
Six years ago, during one of my bike nights, I found myself in a bustling parking lot that unexpectedly became the subject of this fine art photograph. After we stopped in the parking lot, I decided to fly my drone, which led me to discover a scene that looked entirely different from above, especially under the night lights.
From a bird’s-eye view, the rows of parked cars transformed into a vibrant tapestry, creating a mesmerizing geometric pattern against the asphalt canvas. The interplay of light and shadows added depth and dynamism to the composition, turning an ordinary parking lot into an extraordinary visual experience.
The presence of people moving about brought a sense of energy and movement to the scene. Capturing this moment, I aimed to invite viewers to appreciate the beauty that can be found in the most seemingly mundane settings. This photograph challenges conventional notions of artistic subjects, encouraging us to find artistry in the most unexpected places. It serves as a reminder that there is inherent beauty and aesthetic value all around us, waiting to be discovered and appreciated. This shot, taken almost on a whim, turned into a representation of how different and beautiful the world can look from a new perspective, especially during the night from above.
